About Me

I live a delightful and boring family life outside Vancouver B.C. I am lucky enough to live with three lovely humans who tolerate me and laugh at some of my jokes.

Husband of 20 plus years is my true partner in life. We currently both work fulltime. He orders the groceries every week and I do the laundry. He cooks more and I try to clean up more (but don’t always and then he does it without complaint). We love to golf together and try new red wines and travel. I waited until I was 38 to get married, and without a doubt he was worth the wait.

Our kids are 19 and 17 (second year university and grade 12) so both on the brink of being launched into the worlds as adults. We enjoy this period very much, having had an easy time with them as teenagers, as they frequently remind us. They weren’t wrong – we are lucky to cohabitate with respectful and interesting human beings and we can’t wait to see what comes next.

One of the consequences of having had my kids later in life (39 & 41) is that as they are heading out into the world, I am ready for a different corner of it. I am counting down to retirement in months. I am writing more and reimagining my life without a 37.5 hour work week.
